Diana & Mike’s Wedding

December 29th, 2011

Photography by SB Childs

Diana and Mike first met when going to school at Vanderbilt. With Nashville holding such a deep place in their hearts, it was a logical location for their wedding. Guests came from all over country, being that the brides family was from California and the groom played for the the New York Mets. The ceremony was held at Benton Chapel at Vanderbilt with a reception to follow at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Chef’s Market provided a delicious dessert spread, while Village of Flowers flooded the room with flowers. Custom branded boxes were created by Front Porch Props for table decor. The guests danced the night away to the Blue Tones.

Heather & Chad’s Wedding

December 21st, 2011

Even before Heather and Chad’s wedding, they got together with Zane Karl Studios for a pre-wedding shoot to surprise all of there friends during the reception. The lovely ceremony was in Scarritt Bennett with a reception to follow at Limelight. Thanks to Draping Designs, Nashville Event Lighting, Village of Flowers, Visual Elements, and Liberty Party Rentals, Limelight was transformed into …. Heather was the owner of McConnell’s Catering‘s daughter, and had catering provided by their company. She also went above and beyond in developing the decor. She detailed many small hand made items, such as sewn pillows and lace votives. Jay Qualls made a magnificent cake for the groom shaped as a boat that was the talk of the evening. To top off the evening, Jimmy Charles, American Idol Season 9, provided the guests with an entertaining night full of dancing!

Corrine & Jason’s Wedding

December 14th, 2011

Photography by Rich Kalonick Photography

Corrine and Jason had an elaborate reception at the Parthenon in Centennial Park. With the statue of Athena overlooking, the couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious dinner including a dessert station by Pinkberry. One remarkable element of their wedding was the seating chart written on recycled glass. The piece was unintentionally featured on Talk of the Town television show, highlighting eco-friendly accessories to include in a wedding.

Taylor’s Bar Mitzvah

December 12th, 2011

It was such an honor to plan a Bar Mitzvah with Jody Mattison and Dr. Jordan Asher for their son, Taylor. Following the ceremony at West End Synagogue, was the sports-themed celebration at Loveless Barn. As you can see from the pictures provided by Divine Images, Taylor had an awesome time at his Bar Mitzvah!

STUNNING!!! I love the dramatic lighting! Great job Divine Images!

Amy & Hart’s Wedding

December 3rd, 2011

With the ceremony being held at elegant, Scarritt Bennett, Amy and Hart wanted a very fun, modern atmosphere for their reception! The panoramic glass view from the 22nd floor of the venue, created an incredibly ambient mood. Clean, white furniture, custom drapes, and an all glass design created contemporary lines, reminiscent of Scandinavian design. The grooms cake, designed by Jay Qualls, was shaped as an open heart to represent his career as a heart surgeon. Thanks to Chef’s MarketNashville Event Lighting, and Focal Point Cinematic Weddings, Amy and Hart had the time of their lives!

Sara & Kyle’s Wedding

December 1st, 2011

This is one of my favorite images from a wedding! It really shows all of the detail and ambience of the room design. With the help of Nashville Event Lighting, Chef’s Market and Village of Flowers, I transformed hip Houston Station into an elegant yet chic environment. Sarah and Kyle even provided guests with special made coffees from Noteable Blends to go along with the Dessert Designs cake. They had the cutest idea for their table names! Instead of being numbered, each table was labeled with the name of a concert the couple attended together. Their wedding was a blast for everyone involved!

November 22nd, 2011

This woman is a God send, and is the only person I have met who could pull off what she does.

Responsiveness: Regardless of what she has going on, she’s always accessible. She worked hard to make sure I knew she was there for me when I needed her.

Professionalism: Angela has the perfect balance of establishing a professional and personal relationship with you. I felt like she was someone who would go to bat for me and would do anything she could to make the day amazing. And it was MORE than amazing. It was perfect. People commented all night on how they would watch her, and that she was so on top of her game the entire night. I never had any doubt of this, and it was nice to see that my guests recognized the hard work she was putting into the party. I actually cried at the end of the night because I was just overcome with gratitude.

Value:  I was one of those brides who really thought that I could do this on my own. I WAS WRONG. SHE WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. One thing we regret the most was not having her just do the whole thing. It really would have been worth it. Also, when you work with Angela, you have access to the most amazing vendors in the entire world. They are amazing, and will make your day perfect. Yes, you are able to work with them without Angela, however you will never get the same result. It is evident to me that they are all close friends, and with it comes great communication on their part. Angela brings it all together. The value of her product is priceless.

Flexibility: I changed things right up until the day of. Angela had absolutely no problem with this. She was so amazing. Literally, I would ask her if something was possible, and she’d always be able to make it happen. Wow, I just can’t say enough. Really.

I saved Quality of Service for last because I feel like all of the other things tie into that.  Absolutely the best wedding planner in the world. I mean it. Angela, I cannot thank you enough for what you did for us. Zach, myself and our parents spent the entire day today talking about how amazing it was, and what a privilage it was to have you as our wedding planner. We all cannot thank you enough. We will keep trying though! :)

To anyone who is thinking of hiring this amazing woman, don’t think about it for one more second. Just do it. You will never regret it.

Destination Weddings: Kona, Hawaii

November 16th, 2011

Elegant Weddings by Angela picked up and went to Kona, Hawaii to execute a wedding for 80+ guests. We worked all week on the event and participated in activities with the guests. In those activities we picked plumeria to make leis for all the guests who attended the ceremony. This was not such a good idea because there are spiders that protect the plumeria. The couple had a special first dance, as it was sung by the best man Chris Pierce and the Minister. The stacked wedding cake added an element of glamour to the event. The guests danced the night with DJ Tiger, who kept the party going all night long. We had guests fly in from all over but the majority of them came from Tennessee and California. The groom’s family lived in Kona, which was very helpful in having some inside connections.

Angela,

I truly do not know where to begin. How can I thank you for all you did for us?! There’s just no possible way the word can do justice to the gratitude and appreciation I have for you and your team. Our wedding was so perfect. Honestly, it was everything I ever dreamed of and more. The wedding is STILL the topic of discussion amoungst our friends and family; they all swear they’ve never been to anything so amazing! It truly was a day to remember, and we have you to thank.

If you eer need any references, PLEASE send them my way. I will sing your praises until they say, “Ok! We get it! She’s GREAT!” Thanks again for making the most important day of my life so special and PERFECT!

Lindsey

Tip: Daylight Savings Time

November 7th, 2011

When choosing your wedding or event date, be sure to look at the calendar for important notes, such as daylight savings time. It is very important to note this to your guests so they are not early, or more importantly late to your event! If you are planning in a different time zone or have traveling guests, be sure to indicate the time zone in the invite.

When planning with your photographer, be sure to take into account the sunset and light to capture beautiful images.

We have told everyone about your expertise and about how lovely it was working with you. Everything was perfect at the wedding ceremony and reception.

Lindsey & Zach’s Wedding

October 28th, 2011

What a wonderful couple Lindsey and Zach were to work with! The couple met online, a surprisingly successful way for harding working professionals to meet their true love! If both people truthfully fill out their profile, the system is very accurate, as is testament to Zach and Lindsey!  Planning with them was so much fun! Lindsey was so carefree and excited about marrying Zach!

The War Memorial was intricately decorated by Enchanted Florist, Connie Duglin, Visual Elements and Blue Nova. The floor plan was in a fun design with focus on a Jay Qualls cake, hung on a trussing in the middle of the stage. The whole wedding experience was very personalized to the couples personality. The grooms cake was a masterpiece, with layers of action figures. When guests arrived at the reception hall, they were greeted with a will call sign imitating that of a live concert, since Lindsey is a song writer. Zach’s family owns a car dealership and provided high class transportation for their guests. With Carrabbas as the cater and Spangler for entertainment, no one wanted the evening to end!

Tip: Toasting

October 5th, 2011

“To all the girls who are in a hurry to have a boyfriend or get married, a piece of biblical advice: ‘Ruth patiently waited for her mate Boaz.’ While you are waiting on YOUR Boaz, don’t settle for any of his relatives; Broke-az, Po-az, Lyin-az, Cheating-az, Dumb-az, Drunk-az, Cheap-az, Locked-up-az, Good-for-nothing-az, Lazy-az, and especially his third cousin Beatin-yo-az. Wait on your Boaz and make sure he respects Yoaz”

I heard a lot of toasts and I always hope that they are appropriate and sweet. This is one of the funniest I have heard from a mother of the bride!

Elite Event Educators

October 4th, 2011

Elite Event Educators, Angela Proffitt, Jay Qualls, and Blake Chaffin, kicked off their education classes on October 2, 2011. The class was held in the cozy coffee shop inside Houston Station owned and operated by Scott with Noteable Blends.

The professionals informed the attendants of how to turn the money you have for an event into smart money. They shared ways to make $10 look like $100 with correct placement and signature pieces. With all of their experience in the industry there was no question unanswered and no element of the event unmentioned. Attend one class and you will never wonder where your money went during the planning process. In fact, when you look back you will be amazed at how much you did without going over your budget!

A Red Carpet Event: Karesse & Ron

October 2nd, 2011

On September 24th, Karesse and Ron rolled out the red carpet for their spectacular movie themed wedding at the Hutton Hotel, which was nothing short of an Emmy award! Guests posed for photos against the bride’s own customized backdrop with pictures provided by Picture This Nashville, to create fun memories for the couple on their special day.  The array of flowers, designed by Village of Flowers, fruits and candles filled the room to compliment the beauty of the jewels that danced around the room.

One of our favorite elements was surprising the guests with a fun video made by With This Ring.    And what would a movie be without popcorn?  Creatively displayed labels made by the bride’s mother were the perfect favor for the departure of their guests! The eHarmony commercial the couple created really added to their special movie night by confirming their love is true, fun and unique.

Whitney & Jon: Schermerhorn Symphony Center

September 1st, 2011

The Schermerhorn Symphony Center served as a beautiful setting for Whitney and Jon’s wedding.  The floral design was amazing, provided by Oshi, which filled the room with delicate elegance.  We loved the personalized details throughout the wedding such as the wishing tree decorated with pictures of their families.  The “sweet treat” tables were a huge hit with mini desserts, cupcakes, and lots of chocolate. The Nashvegas Allstars kept the party rockin’ and made sure everyone had a great time.

Catherine’s Wedding

August 25th, 2011

There is never a dull moment in the event industry! This past weekend took Elegant Weddings down to Columbia, Tennessee for another private residence wedding to be featured in a show later this summer by CMT! We stepped in to assist with the planning of this wedding about four weeks before the date, which made for a very busy month! Collaboration and communication was key in preparing for this event, and while the day was extremely hot and long, everyone communicated and worked together to make the day run as smoothly as possible. Of course there were challenges to overcome, but that’s what we were there for!

The ceremony took place in the yard around the pool, with the bride’s aisle actually a runway bridging the pool! As the music changed and the bride was about to take her trip down the aisle/runway, sheer drapes parted to reveal her standing with her father as rose petals floated effortlessly from the balcony. CMT Interview sessions with the bride and groom continued after the ceremony, and after family pictures were quickly concluded, cocktail hour finished with the guests finding their way into the reception tent.

The cake was a beautiful design of strawberry and buttercream to perfectly match the pinks, jewels, feathers, and sparkles the bride chose, along with cake shots identical to the wedding cake and a separate chocolate shot. The candles, and lace tablecloths and other décor were brought to life by the string lights and parameter up-lighting strategically arranged around the tent. A very memorable reception!  And while the day was long and hot, our event team’s passion and commitment to our clients made it all worthwhile at the night’s end when the bride and groom were pleased with their day.

The couple was featured on CMT’s hit show “Last Days Before I Do”. Only a few days before they were to be married, they each went on dates with other people in the ultimate test to their relationship. It was a journey to find themselves and challenge their love.

Rachel & Adam: Assumption and Rumours East

August 20th, 2011

It was a hot summer day when the bride called me and asked me to move the pictures from oustide to inside. It worked out perfect that they were getting ready at the Hutton Hotel that provided a modern backdrop for their pictures by Arden Photography. Karen Hendrix did alterations and provided wardrobe managment on the day of wedding. Nashville Event Lighting hung glamourous chandeliers from the outdoor canopy. The guests enjoyed a family style dinner instead of the usual seated dinner, very fun!
