Jordan & Logan’s Wedding

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

This bride really went above and beyond to add the little personal touches that made her wedding so unique. After leaving the ceremony at McKendree Church, the couple headed to WO Smith for a beautiful reception. Village of Flowers, Lavender Lane Catering, and Connie Duglin helped the bride to develop her image. She even made ornaments that hung from trees with little sayings on them! Working with Jay Qualls, she was able to design a fabulous wedding cake and grooms cake, fitting for her fiancees love of Alabama! The couple wrote letters to one another, in which they tucked away in a custom wood box for their one year anniversary!

Zyla & Rondell’s Wedding

This wedding was truly unique! With pilots being in the family, the Zyla and Rondell had their wedding in an air hanger. We had a lot of fun with floor plan, making it in the shape of an aircraft with the sweetheart table as the nose of the plane. I have to give a special thanks to the guys from Music City Tent’s and Events. They were very patient with me as I had them move the tables back and forth for the PERFECT layout!

Lauren’s Sweet 16

Saturday, February 18th, 2012

Lauren’s Sweet 16 was so much fun! Walking in Richland Country Club was like swimming into the sea. With sushi, a mermaid dancer, glass bubbles hanging from the ceiling, and a blue bubble bar, by the end of the night, we were making waves! There were even risers covered in seaweed for the kids to dance on! At the end of the night, a custom candy bar let everyone get a bit of sweets for the road!

New York Winter Wonderland

I was so honored to be the planner for this gracious bride! Check out the blog post by my friend David from Renaissance Floral Design!

“My calendar indicated, “Meeting with Angela Proffitt, wedding planner from Nashville,” I had no idea what I was in for … the doors blew open, and there she was … all 5’1”. She said, “I have a wedding I’d like to talk with you about.” She further explained that one of her weddings planned for spring, which was basically finished, had been moved up to January. Scheduling conflicts for the spring date resulted in a window of three weeks to get her soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs down the aisle. She was so darn cute with that Texas hair and Southern accent, I just had to help her out! At the end of our meeting, she was off to Saratoga to see a venue selected for the event. I said, “Let me know if you need anything.” She replied, “Don’t you worry, I will.” Three hours later …  a text: “OMG, HELP!”  I set her up to see one of my favorite catering pros, Traci, at Saratoga National Golf Club. They met at 5:30 pm; around 9:00 I got a call … “I need a location!” I said, “Already on it. I have us set up for three spots tomorrow. Go get some rest, call me in the morning.”

We toured the locations and eventually settled on one. Off the beaten path, we could make it private,  and the groom’s mom mentioned she loved this property, which was the icing on the cake. In three days, we had everything locked down — caterer, menu, location, and design. Angela gave me the tools I needed, and together we had everything in motion as she headed back to Nashville.

It was a nonstop text message, phone call, iChat, screen share, Skype, conference call, Facetime, fax, email, screen shot, Dropbox, FedEx, USPS, special delivery whirlwind of details. Angela and her assistant, Samantha, had Tennessee covered. They managed a destination wedding for the couple with perfection without letting anyone know where they were going or what they would be doing until they got there.  As the wheels hit the tarmac, and the tour buses rolled into Albany, we were prepped and ready.

On January 7th 2012,  North met South, and it was on for this special couple! None of this would have been possible without the cooperation and trust of all those involved. So it is with great thanks that I include the following old and new friends.

Photographer Joe Buissink for reworking his scheduling to make sure he could be there, and for the pics in this blog. The boys at Full Frame Cinema for the time-lapse video, and making the hexacopter fly. Vera Wangfor the couture. Jon Werking for playing the baby grand and Steven Curtis Chapman for the soulful vocals. Jay Qualls Inc. for the sweets! The culinary talents and management of the Mazzone Group. TheAppel Inn for giving me the keys,  and letting me do my thing. Michael Frodey and staff of Clifton Park Rentalfor pulling an all-nighter the eve of the wedding. Rebecca Ashby of The Pink Orange for the fastest stationery and menu turn-around in history. The skilled hands of Pya Seidner for her meticulous calligraphy within hours of the event. Ashley Cole for the beautiful logo.  Blake Chaffin at Nashville Event Lighting.  The hair and makeup team who trekked from Nashville to NY. Zane Hauck for the edit on the featured video of this blog. Marcel for keeping an eye out. My dear, long-time friend, Lori, who took care of the bride and her entourage as they got ready at my home. My talented team at Renaissance Floral Design. And without a doubt, to my long-lost twin, Angela Proffitt … we were separated at birth, but we have been reunited! Ya’ll better watch out!”

Thank you David Michael Schmit for awesome experience and blog!

Ben & Mary at the Hermitage Hotel

Saturday, March 12th, 2011

The beautiful Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville was the host of Ben and Mary’s “I Do” nuptials. The hotel provided a beautiful back drop for the flowers designed by Oshi with hints of ivory, blue, and gold.

The tables were set with chargers tied with beautiful gold ribbon as the bride loves bows, and the couple could not have been happier with their brides cake topped with precious moments and 101st Airborne grooms cake.

A simple yet elegant reception in the Grand Ballroom followed the afternoon ceremony on the veranda, with an additional dessert of King’s Cake bringing subtle echos of Mardi Gras to the day as the couple were both originally from New Orleans. At the evening’s end, the smiling couple rode off in a horse and carriage for a night ride around town!

Gina & Josh’s Wedding: After the Flood

Friday, January 14th, 2011

Photographs by Jonathan Campbell Photography

Now this was a wedding I will NEVER forget! Gina and Josh were scheduled to get married at Gaylord Opryland Hotel in May. The planning was running smoothly and Gina was so excited! Come May, disaster stuck. Their venue was destroyed and closed for months of damage control. Gina was heartbroken, but after some deliberation agreed to push the wedding back to New Years Eve, a few days after the Opryland Hotel reopened. After being together for 8 years, why not wait a few more months.

I had to change the whole design from a spring wedding to a winter wedding and get Gina excited about the new idea. By that point Gina was exhausted with the whole progress and relinquished the planning process to her mother to deal with while she and Josh jetted off on what was to be their honeymoon. We didn’t have long, but when the day arrived, it was all worth while. Josh and Gina were so pleased! Josh told me he was so glad they agreed to push the wedding back, because it went above and beyond their expectations! As I always say, everything happens for a reason!

Gina and Josh’s wedding was featured in TWO publications! Check out their articles in Enchanted Brides and Wedding Style Magazine.

Liz & Brian Marry-Assumption/Union Station

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Brian and Liz married at Assumption Catholic Church with reception to follow at the historical Union Station. This couple left no detail behind. Everything from menu cards, table numbers, and favors for their guests were all very unique and reflective of their style. As you can tell from the pictures, shot by husband and wife team of Phindy Studio, everyone had a blast.

Erin & Kyle Marry At Belle Meade Plantation

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

Erin and Kyle married at The Stables in Belle Meade Plantation with the reception in the Carriage House. They wanted to do something outside of the box, rather than a traditional wedding cake. So, they opted for an elaborate dessert bar designed by Chef’s Market, which included tasty treats such as mini truffles dripped in dark chocolate with red drizzle, red bourbon pecan balls, and white and chocolate tuxedo strawberries.

Their menu was Southern inspired, as well as their bar selections. As guests exited the ceremony into the reception, they were greeted with a signature drink, a Lynchburg lemonade with a lemon garnish, accompanied by barbeque sliders. Although they married in the month of February, it was important to them that it didn’t look like Valentine’s Day. We accomplished this by using sophisticated damask linens, floral arrangements with curly willow and magnolia throughout, and ambient lighting design.

Husband and wife team, Bill and Lesli Emmetts of Divine Images, captured this story for Erin and Kyle. Their creative photographs tell the story of the entire day and all of the details that made this event so memorable.

Caitlyn & Robbie – Country Music Hall of Fame

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

A few things that stood out in our minds from this event, were the ceremony music and the fabulous reception menu. Caitlyn and Robbie married at Second Presbyterian Church where Capitol Brass provided an amazing musical experience for their guests. Rarely do we use an all brass quintet, but just to name a few of these great songs – “Oh Mio Bambino Caro,” “Simple Gifts,” “Sheep May Safely Graze,” and “Horn Pipe.” So, if you’re looking to add a little something extra with a twist, definitely check them out.

The menu provided by TwoTwentyTwo Catering at The Country Music Hall of Fame was an eclectic combination of Caitlyn’s Italian heritage and Robbie’s love for Southern comfort food. Here are a few of the mouth watering items – Our favorite passed hors d’oeuvre were the grilled cheese sandwiches cut into an “F” to symbolize the couple’s new last name, which was accompanied by an outstanding Tomato-Basil Bisque. Beef Lasagna and Italian Sausage-n-Peppers were also a huge hit with the guests, along with some Southern Molasses-Glazed Ham and Biscuits.

Husband and wife team, Bill and Lesli Emmetts of Divine Images, captured the story for Mr. & Mrs. Franklin. Their creative photographs tell the story of the entire day and all of the details that made this event so memorable.

Annie & Larry Marry at Gaylord Opryland

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Annie and Larry held their events at Gaylord Opryland Resort. Their ceremony was held at the Lion’s Head Fountain with cocktail hour following in the Crystal Gazebo. The lavish seated dinner in the Delta Pavilion with custom designed decor by Wes Crissman was breathtaking. The Christmas atmosphere that Gaylord Opryland is known for, made a beautiful background to photos taken by husband and wife team, Lesli and Bill Emmetts, of Divine Images.

Becky & Chris Marry At Gaylord Opryland

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Becky and Chris held their ceremony at Gaylord Opryland’s Delta Pavilion with their reception in the Magnolia Ballroom. Ever since she was a little girl, Becky dreamed about having her wedding at the Opryland Hotel. So, this was truly a dream come true. She can remember sitting with her Grandmother on her front porch, talking about her special day.

“Bling” was the theme of the wedding, with every detail designed around the cake that set the mood; created by Maples Wedding Cakes. The guests just couldn’t get enough of this Country Christmas themed menu, complete with roasted Sleighbell chicken roulades with cranberry cornbread stuffing, glazed with thyme butter and dried cranberries, accompanied by candied yams with balckstrap molasses and toasted English walnuts. After dinner, the guest indulged over the gourmet hot chocolate station with peppermint sticks, marshmallows, and whipped cream. To top it off, it was served in custom made cups with the couple’s picture with their dog, Macey May.

Husband and wife team, Lesli and Bill Emmetts of Divine Images, captured this magical event for Mr. & Mrs. Harrison. Their creative photographs tell the story of the entire day and all of the details that made this day so memorable.
